Comfort and trust are essential components for successful treatment outcomes, this intake is an optional, brief session that allows a chance to meet in person to discuss our DBT program and  available treatment options.

ASSESSMENT AND ORIENTATION (90 MINUTES)  $200

This session allows for a better understanding of past experiences while becoming familiar with current therapeutic needs, goals, and concerns. During this session, client and therapist work together to clarify therapeutic targets while reviewing the CDBTA program handbook to create the necessary building blocks for an evidence-based treatment plan.

DBT THERAPY SESSION  (60 MINUTES)  $150

Individual component of treatment in which therapist and client discuss issues that come up during the week, recorded on diary cards and follow a treatment target hierarchy. Self-injurious and suicidal behaviors take first priority, followed by therapy interfering behaviors. Then there are quality of life issues and finally working towards improving one's life generally. During the individual therapy, the therapist and patient work towards improving skill use. Often, skills group is discussed and obstacles to acting skillfully are addressed. These sessions are combined with between session phone coaching to generalize skill use in day to day settings.

DBT-PE THERAPY SESSION  (60 MINUTES)  $150

Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy, originally developed by Edna Foa, Ph.D., and endorsed by both the American Psychiatric Association and the Department of Veterans Affairs, is a form of psychotherapy for post-traumatic stress disorder  (PTSD) . After a traumatic event, some individuals experience unwanted thoughts, disturbing nightmares, feelings of hopelessness, depression, and hypervigilance for an extended period of time. The goal of PE is to gradually help clients reengage with life, especially with desired or necessary activities/places that have been being avoided. Sessions begin at 60 minutes and build to 90 minutes as exposure work is incorporated. This is a weekly treatment lasting approximately three months.

DBT SKILLS GROUP  (120 MINUTES)  $100

Our groups are a psycho-educational format, operating more like a class than a typical therapy group. Skills groups are approximately 24 weeks long and contain four skills modules - mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness and emotion regulation.  For clients with complex, multi-diagnostic, difficult to treat concerns, we recommend completing this group twice.
