Emilio Ycaza is pursuing licensure as a mental health professional in South Carolina. He received his Master of Arts in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling and his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of South Florida.
Emilio's training has consisted of a focus on evidence-based treatment for adults with substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, and emotion regulation concerns. Throughout his training Emilio has focused on DBT as a co-leader for DBT skills groups and by providing skills focused individual DBT sessions.
Emilio provides group therapy services with CDTBA.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy Post Masters Training Fellowship
April 2026 - current
CDBTA’s fellowship program combines intensive training, mentorship, peer consultation and hands-on clinical work. The program is designed to enhance clinical competencies in DBT treatment and prepares clinicians for national certification. CDBTA fellows learn from specialists in the field by participating in DBT consultation team, mentorship discussions, learning activities and individual supervision. Fellows apply their learning by co- facilitating DBT Skills Training Groups and providing therapy to a small number of clients.

Clinical Counseling Student Internship
June 2024 – December 2025
CDBTA’s internship program is a year long internship for graduate students in clinical counseling programs. This internship combines intensive training, mentorship, peer consultation and hands-on clinical work. The program is designed to enhance clinical competencies in DBT treatment and prepares clinicians for licensure as professional counselors. Interns apply their learning by observing and co- facilitating DBT Skills Training Groups while providing therapy to a small number of clients.
